all Contractors of Category GC-5 and above with license valid for
the year 1997 E.C.
1. The
Government of FDRE has obtained a Grant from the German Financial
Cooperation (KfW) for financing the "Urban Development Fund" (UDF).
Portion of this fund has been allocated for Adigrat City
Administration, by the National Steering Committee, towards the cost
of Construction work.
2.
The Adigrat City Administration
invites sealed bids form eligible bidders for furnishing the
necessary labor, material, equipment and services for the
construction and completion of Adigrat Drainage System.
3. The
Work on offer mainly consists of the following components:
a) Supply
and construction of circular concrete pipe including all the
necessary junction and drop manholes,
b) Construction
of rectangular masonry lined canal.
c) Construction
of stone masonry outfall structure,
d) Construction
of double cell culverts.
4. Bidders
must have a valid registration certificate from Ministry of
Infrastructure and must be registered for VAT.

6. A
complete set of Bidding documents may be purchased against payment
of a non-refundable fee of Birr 200 from Adigrat municipality.
7.
The tender must be accompanied
by a Tender Security in an amount of not less than two percent (2%)
of the Tender Price in the form of a certified cheque.
8. Tenders
must be delivered to the address given above 5 in 30 consecutive
days starting from the days, when this bid is announced on Addis
Zemen and The Ethiopian Herald.
9. Tenders
will be opened in the presence of those Tenders representatives who
choose to attend at the Conference Hall of Adigrat Municipality,
Adigrat, at 4 O'clock in the morning the day after tender document
submission is closed.
10. Tenders
shall be valid fro a period of ninety (90) days after tender
opening.
11. The
City Administration reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
