The Federal Democratic
Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit form the International
Development Association toward the cost of Agricultural Research and
Training Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of
this credit to payments under the contract for the Supply, Delivery
and Installation of Furniture for Office Buildings-IFB No.
AU/ARTP/ICB/20-05/06.
2. The
Alemaya University now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for
the Supply and Installation of Furniture.

Bidders have to bid for the whole
lot. Bids which are not technically responsive for at least 90% of
the items in the lot will be treated as incomplete and as
non-responsive in the first instance. However, if none of the bids
are technically responsive for at least 90% of the Items in the lot
the purchaser will then evaluate the bid and award the contract(s)
by each item in a lot.
3. Bidding
will be conducted through national competitive bidding procedures
specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD
Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible
source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from the ARTP
Coordination Office at Alemaya University and inspect the bidding
documents at eth address given below from 8:30-12:30 A.M. and from
2:30 to 5:30 P.M. local time from Monday to Friday.
5. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr
Four Hundred or equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency. The method of payment will be in the form of cashier’s,
certified or crossed check or a bank draft in favour of the Alemaya
University.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the address at or before 9:30 A.M. on May 05,
2006. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 30,000
or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids
will be rejected.
7. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders/represeatnvies who choose
to attend at the address below at 9:30 A.M. on May 2, 2006.
